Grooming Tips To a Giant Teddy Bear: Your Kid’s Best Friend

Teddies affect our children in more than one way and outside the family, it is this furry buddy that gets their attention trust, love, and affection. Other than this, they stimulate our kids’ imagination and provide them with some extra fun! Whether it is a little boo bear or a king-sized one, they make great companions for children by comforting them when they are down or hosting sleepovers. Since our dear ones develop such a timeless bond with boo bears, it is evident to maintain their life by keeping them free from dust and mite and maintaining the fluffiness and softness of those furs till our kids turn into oldies! This becomes tougher in the case of Giant Teddy Bear but no fret, here are some of the interesting hacks for you to give your kid’s most beloved toy easy and happy grooming. Let’s sail you through them without wasting your time…

Using the Washing Machine

If the jumbo size of the teddy can be fit into your washing machine then you can go for this but before that ensure that its fabric can be machine washed. There is usually a tag or you must remember the time when you purchased it. If these conditions are suitable in your case then wrap your teddy in a cotton cloth, maybe an old bedsheet, and then put it in the washing and drying tumble. You can then keep it aside at a clean dry place for drying it further.

Cleaning with a Baking Soda and Vinegar

Another method is to wash them using Vinegar and Baking Soda. This is an excellent method to take out any kind of odor from those giant furs if you do not have enough laundry detergent. In a water full tub or bucket, add the vinegar and sprinkle four or five pinches of baking soda powder. You can now hand wash it using this. Either soak your teddy in it for a few minutes and follow by rubbing with a brush softly to remove the stubborn stains or you can use a mug and pour this solution on the teddy and then do the brushing to remove the dirt. This mixture can also be used in machine washing. Make sure that you dilute the vinegar enough.

Using Cornstarch for Removing Odor

Sometimes, all your big size teddy needs are to do away with the stink as its furs are clean and soft. At such times, use cornstarch powder along with the baking powder. Take a plastic bag, put this mixture in it and then put your teddy bear. Wrapping your teddy up completely with this mixture, Shake! Shake! After a well shaking, when this powder seeps into the furs of your teddy, remove it from this bag and let it sit for a few hours. Follow-up by dusting away the extra particles using a soft brush.

This should not be done unless the teddy is clean.

Using a vacuum Cleaner

With the softest pressure, you can pull out all the dust particles from your teddies and give them good weekly grooming if you find the dusting with a brush annoying.

Wrapping Up

Cleaning a giant teddy bear is not that tedious as it sounds. Just do the daily dusting and take it for thorough washing and odor removing grooming after 6 months. If there is a stain or spot of food or a drink then spot washing should be done immediately. Remember that you do not hang it on the clips as its weight is heavy and thus the area clipped on can tear the furs. Also, never put it in direct sunlight for drying as there are chances that its color would fade away.
